Zin's Club

Now hold your horses. This thing won't be released anytime soon, but there will be a new Jupiter album titled "Beyond the Horizon" according to their official twitter. Also, shoutout to lunaterra for using her eyes and spotting this. I totally glossed over and probably wouldn't have realized it was a thing until weeks later.

At this gig, it seems like one song will be given out for free on CD in advance.

Edit: Welp, Zin is leaving the band early next year. I doubt this will be happening now.

Edit2: Prepare yourself for Zin's solo project which is now official.

To be honest, I nearly glazed over it too. Laugh I was in bed, so I wasn't really paying that much attention.

"Relatable comic, fanart of a game I don't play, Jupiter 3rd album, local news, promoted Scientology ad...wait, what?"

Don't you think 'Beyond The Horizon' is the name of the song on the pre-release cd? Or does that not make sense with how it's phrased in Japanese?

Yeah it's possible I'm interperting it wrong. It depends if the "音源「Beyond the Horizon」" part is refering to the third album or the the pre-release CD. Someone with better grammar can feel free to correct me.

I interpreted the tweet as referring to "lead song 'Beyond the Horizon' from Jupiter's [as yet unnamed] 3rd album" but I'm still essentially a Japanese beginner, so...

Though maybe we're both right and both the song and the album are named "Beyond the Horizon." Tongue

I'm still thinking the album has "blood" in its title in order to have the tour name 'Blood & Tears' make sense.

Well, apparently Zin is leaving the band. Yet if I'm reading this correctly, it seems they're going to keep moving on with the 3rd album without him.

Well that sucks. Weirdly, I checked their website earlier today and that message wasn't there yet.

What? I had a bunch of good news today and this has to happen? God, this sucks.

Here's my translation attempt.

Top part:
Quote:Truly thank you for always supporting Jupiter. This is a sudden announcement, but after the January and February 2018 lives, Zin will retire from Jupiter. Please respect his own will and decision. From now on, everyone please cheer on both Zin and Jupiter.

After the tour dates:
Quote:ZIN [Vocal]
To everyone that supports Jupiter.
There are things left undone with my best friends, and for that, I am truly sorry. "I want to pursue the image of the ideal vocalist with words and melody." That was the challenge I wanted to answer at all costs. For everyone that supports Jupiter, I will sing with gratitude, so please burn the remaining lives into memory. Thank you very much until the end.

I guess since he won't be leaving until next year, it's still possible to put out a recording of some sorts (if that isn't cancelled), but I really don't see the point of Jupiter without Zin. Honestly, I'd expect them to call it quits and just focus on Versailles after he's done.

You're telling me. I'm actually moving over to Japan in March, and was hoping I'd be able to catch a show at some point. And while I'm sure they can find another vocalist of Zin's ability, the fact is that he was largely the factor that gave them their own identity, and I'm not sure I can picture a lot of those songs with a different voice. Losing Masashi and Yuki was one thing, but this is a massive change, to the point where if I were in Hizaki's shoes, I'd have to really consider if it might be better to just dissolve the band and put the songs written for this 3rd album towards a new Versailles full-length.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but that's just my two cents.
