Yuzukingdom - Pandemic EP (March 6, 2019)
#11
BSC's earliest albums are basically Bodom worship (hence why they are in). I assume the stuff after that starts to vary a lot. I'm not an expert though.
Occasionally, I write music reviews.

That makes sense.
Feel free to request a translation here. And check out my previous work in this section.
Please bear it mind I'm always busy though and it may take a while!

Yeah, if there was any single thing that would have got BSC on there it was their first album, though their more recent singles and EPs I found are closer to that again.

I always for the most part agreed on their standard for metalcore stuff, drawing as hard of a line as they could "is this more on the metal side or more on the core side" and going from there.

Fair enough. I always think of Yuzukingdom as Melodic Death, but then the amount of clean vocals they use may stop it from being in that genre

I'm not familiar with the band as a whole, so I would't know what to call their collective musical work, though I did dig the track at the start of the thread.

I guess the news thread was tagged when it wasn't entirely evident what it sounded like?
If you can't get enough of me giving my opinions without having asked for it, you can read more of it on my Kevy Metal weblog.

Metalcore goes in the j-rock forum if it's more core than metal. I assume that's the case here, but I didn't actually listen to the trailers or anything. Tongue

Yuzikingdom is a very hard band to categorize. Yuziki's growls are a lot closer to the type o unclean vocals that we find in Death Metal than those we trypically find in metacore, in my opinion. As for the music itself, it blends a lot of different influences. There is definitely a core influence, and Yuzuki herself describes it as a "metal and hardcore project" but it's not always very prominent. In National Anthem, for example, there's almost nothing of it (the song feels like a combination of melodeath and dragonforce-style power metal). Many songs also incorporate electronic elements (like BSC).

Overall, I don't consider it more core than metal...

Labels shmabels. It's too hard to be rock.
