I would add

2 Silent Siren [1] 2013
3 Lovendor [1]
4 Princess Princess [1]

Updated this quite a bit recently, also, I forgot a pretty big one which is now listed. Fast Draw started in 1983 with Yoko Kubota on vocals, eventually of Providence and Saber Tiger.

Not sure of adding any of the above bands, regemet. While important, Princess Princess in particular were pretty soft pop rock in the vast majority, outside of a select few exceptions where they were a lot harder of a rock style.

Yeah, I don't think the first 3 fit at all. Lovendor have a couple harder-edged songs, but they're pop rock for the most part. Now those bands are involved in the girl-bands scene (and are Naon Yaon alumni), but you have to draw the line somewhere. Like you can't add Akai Ko-en because Maisa and Sun-Go are friends.

That is my opinion and I do not see as a general opinion:

Scandal belongs in this topic, because ther songs during her early days like Doll, Shojo S, Scandal Nanka Buttobase or Love survive have a hard rock character.
Structure and rhythm is well comparable to bands such as e.g. AC / DC.

Silent Siren belongs not in this topic, although many songs are played at higher speed. Considering only the rhythm section of drums and bass, the style is more like
punk rock.

Lovendor belongs not in this topic despite some matching songs. But in contrast to Scandal and Silent Siren the band lacks credibility and evolves into an idol group.

Princess Princess belongs in this forum even though they are soft. But they are like Shonen Knife one of the most important band of Japanese rock history and not just
related to girl band. I'm sure these bands also have a major impact on the formation of girl hard-rock bands.

Anyone heard of 火の鳥 (Hinotori / Phoenix] at 2:40 here:

It's 「イカ天」 Ikaten, an old Japanese music TV programme. I'm guessing late 80's /early 90's?

Oddly enough I have heard of Hinotori. They appeared on a V/A compilation I've got, Heavy Metal Force V, from 1988 for that same Rock House Explosion that Carmilla and a bunch of others used to perform at. Not sure if Hinotori ever made anything outside of that, perhaps a demo tape.

Nope, their song on the Heavy Metal Force comp is called "Rock'n Roll Power".

Ohh wow good find. I'll write that down somewhere.

I think it might be a decent idea paying Flower Record a visit the next time I'm in Japan, their Japanese metal stock at any given time is super impressive.
