04. World End
05. 不死蝶
06. Shadow's Game
07. Eternal White

09. Promise
10. Shining...

How on earth do they stay in business?

I'll be interested in this. I didn't mind the first album, so if it's roughly as good as that I'll be happy. I don't think a whole lot of Starwave releases, that being said Scarlet Valse are definitely their best band right now.

Oh eww, 500 copies, yeah that's not great. I have to wonder how empty their nationwide tour through every single prefecture really was for attendance, I don't see 500 copies satisfying any decent fanbase. Tongue

Can't say I've ever been to a Scarlet Valse concert, but surely they have to have at least a decent size fanbase since they've done quite a bit of touring over the years. I know limited releases are all the rage in the VK world, but come on 500 copies for your second full album is less than a lot of EPs and stuff.

I discovered after first posting about Scarlet Valse's 47-prefecture tour that two other Starwave bands, Mikansei Alice and La'veil Mizeria, are also doing 47-prefecture tours at the same time. The tours all start next month, I think.

I guess they're the most popular Starwave bands (maybe?), but I still can't fathom why the label would send three bands on separate very long tours simultaneously.

That's what I've been wondering too. Though with them being a visual kei band, I wouldn't be surprised if they sold tons of merchandise at their gigs.

But then that makes a limited 500 copy press of their second studio album even more baffling. Tongue Just seems like really poor business on Starwave's part.

For the record, I just checked and their first album Genesis was limited to 2000 copies (two types with 1000 copies each, and both included different bonus DVDs).

Their singles have actually had more copies released than this album ("Lunatic Mind" was also limited to 2000 copies).

Singles seem to be a more interesting business model for smaller Japanese labels, I guess.

drives me up the wall when I get into a band with a discography that consists of lots of overpriced singles, but yeah, I guess it keeps the smaller bands touring - that and charging the fans to take polaroid pics with the band...
