Saber Tiger will release its brand new studio album 'Obscure Diversity' worldwide on October 10th. Sliptrick will release it outside of Japan on the same day EdgeTrax will release this album domestically.

Tracklisting for the album will be as follows:

01 Daguerreotype Of Phineas Gage (intro)
02 The Crowbar Case
03 The Worst Enemy
04 Stain
05 Beat Of The War Drums
06 Distant Signals
07 The Shade Of Holy Light
08 Permanent Rage
09 Seize Your Moment
10 Divide To Deny
11 Paradigm And Parody
12 The Forever Throne

Bonus Track:
13 The Forever Throne (Acoustic Version)

The album was mixed and mastered by DGM guitarist Simone Mularoni, who has given the bottom end a bit of a boost as compared to the rest of their recent albums.

'Distant Signals' is hibiki's first songwriting contribution to Saber Tiger's repertoire and I think some of you may be surprised by it. The other songs are all written by Akihito Kinoshita and Yasuharu Tanaka, as per usual.

I don't actually know which versions will have the acoustic version of 'The Forever Throne' and which don't, in fact I haven't even heard the acoustic rendition yet, but I'm sure that will be clearer once the official announcements pop up. [Edit: it appears to be on the Sliptrick version only, but I'm not 100% sure on that]

There will also be a deluxe edition with a dvd containing the video clips to 'The Worst Enemy', 'Permanent Rage' and 'Paradigm And Parody'.

Pre-order at:

Sliptrick Records
Disk Union (includes bonus disc with "minus one" versions of 'The Worst Enemy')

Damn, I guess I can't beat you to it if it's not even on twitter yet! Laugh

Very great news though. I'll be looking forward to this one. Hand

Slightly updated the OP to contain the album cover and the first pre-order options I could find. Will add more if they become available.

BTW: I think the album sounds incredible. It's right up there in the Saber Tiger cannon!

Also, the first official video from the album will be arriving very soon!

Oh yeah, it really does. I think it sounds like a more streamlined version of 'Bystander Effect', though it's definitely more aggressive at times. I'm so glad you guys picked them up for worldwide distribution!

I agree, it's so nice to see the odd Japanese band get some decent Western exposure and distribution, especially for a hard working and talented bunch of dudes like the Saber Tiger guys always have been. I hope Saber Tiger does well for you guys long-term.

Hmm, I certainly wasn't expecting the cover to look like that. But then again, I'm not really sure what I expected from an album titled "obscure diversity." Laugh

I already asked the guys who did the cover art. Obviously someone with an H.R. Giger fascination.

By the way, I know you guys are fascinated with obi's here, but the Sliptrick price is really too good to pass up.

For me a obi isn't that important.
The music ain't better if the CD has a obi. Big Grin

If there's a european version available I always go for it as it's much cheaper especially if you wait a few months.

Nonsense.

Obi strips are everything. It helps separate from filthy commoner pressings. Tongue
