Damn it I didn't even realize this was different than AKB48. Curse these stupid idol groups! Laugh
Occasionally, I write Western and Japanese music reviews.

I think there are six (domestic, Japanese) groups in the family, AKB48 being the originating one (NMB48 are managed by a different agency though).

Don't confuse them with the rival "46" groups, Nogizaka46 and their three sisters groups, or Japanese schoolgirls will laugh at you and call you names.

As pop goes, what little I've heard suggests that the 46 groups' music is a little more palatable, a bit more "dramatic", and they stick them in horror/macabre TV shows like "Who Killed Daigoro Tokuyama?". There's a bit of angst and anger here and there.

As for BRIDEAR joining their management, that's... I mean... I have no words.

Hey, perhaps we're reading this all wrong and it signifies a reverse trend. Backing death growls and detuned riffing in the next AKB48 single?

Well I guess they are doing what they can to survive as a band but it is concerning if this means they start becoming some pop rock idol group. D:

Yeah, I'm definitely concerned now.
For those who are interested in that sort of thing, my collection on Discogs.com.

That's certainly.... Interesting. The announcement pdf the site links to does specifically mention HR/HM twice, so I hold out some hope. Who knows, maybe management just wants to branch out and become a more generic management company. Would make sense with the name change.
Fan of: BABYMETAL, Aldious, Unlucky Morpheus, Mary's Blood and many more. Try to go to Japan as often as I can for lives.
