Just discovered Ningen Isu in late september.
Funny origin story: I had just heard of a new film starring Nicolas Cage, crazy guy. It's an adaptation of Lovecrat's 'Color out of Space'.
Curious to see Mr Cage freaking out over aliens and alpalcas, I took to youtube to find some clips of this new movie.
But the movie was too new, and instead I saw a music video from some odd looking fellows. Clicked to satisfy my curiosity and was blown away.
Heavy prog rock with lovecraft themes? Excellent instrument tone and recording quality? It didn't take long before listening to almost every album.
Thus began my quest to discover more about Ningen Isu. There isn't much online in english, but what there is is informative.
Regular ol' Wikipedia has translations for song titles, and a well laid out discography.
Encyclopedia Metallum (Metal Archives) also has excellently organized information.
But nowhere could I find lyrics translations! There are single songs posted here and there, but nothing organized and unified.
So I took all the kanji lyrics from Metal Archives, put them into google translate and put together a bunch of lyrics documents.
I made these for myself, I'm very curious of the lyrical content of this band, and am happy to share with anyone who would find it useful.
Please forgive any translation errors, I'm sure there are many, and I have no way to tell. Some kanji did not make it through the translator.
The romaji translation seems spot on, it's easy to follow the singing with a phonetically written language. Sometimes the romaji doesn't match the singing, which may be translation errors or a result of the Tsugaru dialect these guys sing in.
I'm happy to make the .docx files available for easier editing if any japanese speakers want to improve on google's translations.
The file for the 2015 compilation album is very useful for new listeners, it includes the album year of each song.
(I know the drummer sings on most if not all albums, but metal archives never listed vocals for the drummer, and I forgot to add it in after all the copy paste & formatting)
