New Band: NEKOMESHI
#1

New melodeath band NEKOMESHI formed recently. I recognize the vocalist from XECSNOIN, but I'm not familiar with anyone else. The music sounds a bit like XECSNOIN's last one too, maybe more straightforward. I don't mind this, but it needs some work (but I guess they're in the demo stage, so...). I like the vocals on this, but I could see them driving most people up the wall.

For the love of god, someone fix that snare. Laugh

Sounds alright though.
Occasionally, I write music reviews.

Yeah, that was pretty annoying, I'll agree. Hopefully that gets sorted out with a full-length or something.

I'm more turned off by the weird grunts than the snare sound to be honest. The cleans were alright though. This is good, but not really anything that I can't get anywhere else.
If you can't get enough of me giving my opinions without having asked for it, you can read more of it on my Kevy Metal weblog.

The vox sound like a wounded animal, I found her fairly distinctive (esp. when most females in bands like this try emulating Angela from Arch Enemy).

This was her previous band. Nearly did a thread for them, but I don't think doing one to cover them and this band is a good idea (esp. since she was only with Xecsnoin for one CD and that band has been around for a long time with a lot of style changes, etc).

to be honest i was turned off by everything.
only thing good thing was that the bass player reminded the of the ''Keeping The Law'' guy, which i need to listen now.

Male guitarist Zakuro is also ex-XECSNOIN
Drummer Suguru is ex-Head

Dunno about the other two though the female guitarist looks young enough for it to be her first band.

Ah, that explains why this sounds like XECSNOIN. Some other ex-member(s) wound up in some other band (forgot which one).

Wonder where the bassist came from? He's listed as "Nakamoto Dancho", which (like Minna Taicho) seems to indicate he's the band leader and he looks like the oldest there, so I doubt it's his first band.

Looks like they have a demo out. Venue release, I'm guessing?
