Jesus - Le Dernier Slow (Reissue) (March 13, 2019)
#1
(Thanks for pointing this out Bill! I wouldn't typically post a thread for a reissue, but this is really the first time this material has seen a proper release, so I've done a thread for it.)

King Records decided they'd be badasses again, going out and reissuing something that I had doubts would ever see the light of day again, this time being the rare demo tape Le Dernier Slow by Jesus. I can say from personal experience with it, the demo is a fantastic melodic heavy metal release, which should please Dead End fans and especially Terra Rosa fans, as the contents of the demo were crafted by Yuji "You" Adachi, an important part of both of those bands.

Remastered and released on CD finally, this is essentially an EP, which is really what the demo deserved to be released as in the first place, it's really that much better than your typical demo tape. I'm assuming that in order to make this happen, King records approached You Adachi and managed to get his original master tapes to polish up.

It's funny, I can provide a lot of info on this because the release in question existed already. Laugh
The band's lineup here featured the obvious You Adachi, as well as Cloud Forest's eventual original singer Koji Doi, bassist Kiyoshi Utsunomiya, later of Cloud Forest and Belladonna, and lastly drummer Sharl (no other known works for him).

The release can be pre-ordered here on Disk Union:

Here's King Records' page on the release too:

And here's a familiar sample from the original demo:

I'm very shocked but also very pleased that this is happening. This is a definite no-brainer buy from me. Thank you King Records for being awesome again.

Sidenote: It's up on Amazon as well and probably all the other usual stores.
Occasionally, I write Western and Japanese music reviews.

I don't mean to overhype it (I don't think I have too badly, it really is that cool to see. Tongue), but just the other day Painkiller mentioned a few old Japanese demo tapes that were of such high quality they were pretty much just EPs on a crappier format. This was absolutely a case of that, so I'm completely thrilled that some executive over at King saw this demo the same way and wanted to do something about it.

I haven't actually heard it myself, but it's got freaking Adachi in it so I'm definitely all for it. A proper CD releases beats the hell out of a crappy cassette any day of the week. Tongue

Maybe they'll do Terra Rosa's demos and whatnot next.

I'd love it if King Records started doing some "from the vaults" compilations for a lot of their alumni. Starless would be a real nice one too.

Added a slightly familiar song from the original version of this release.

The best part about this all is that Jesus were never on King's roster at any point, they only made two demos and vanished. King had to actively seek out what was left of this obscure band's works to put their name on it for a reissue.
