Jesus

I usually refrain from making threads on super obscure bands due to a lack of very much musical content, but Jesus are a worthy exception. They released two demos, the first was decent, however for their second demo they hired a very young guitarist who an early member of Terra Rosa at that time, You Adachi, who they had write much of the material on that second demo. After Jesus disbanded, You Adachi contributed a very familiar song to Terra Rosa, one that was a reworked Jesus song he had wrote. Adachi soon left Terra Rosa too to join Dead End with whom he has performed for ever since, taking part in all of their albums and contributing to the creation of the early visual kei movement in the process. Jesus are definitely one of my favorite demo-only bands.

(This is the Jesus song that was reworked into a certain famous Terra Rosa song. Wink Adachi's solo for this version of the song is pretty great too, yet very different from the final product.)

(And from their first demo, just because it's got one of the greatest Engrish names there are. Decent song too.)

Wow ! Indeed, very familiar riff "The Endless Basis" !

Great to see Yuji Adachi's former projects. We clearly recognize his style. Great band, especially "Le Dernier Slow".

Also, I spotted an oddity on Metal Archives : it says that in "Le Dernier Slow", there is a female vocalist ; but by listening to its songs, the voice is definitely a man's one ! Do you have any explanation ?

Fixed it, the guy who added it clearly didn't listen to the band or something. Tongue

Well, guess who have reunited in unison with their Le Dernier Slow reissue. Big Grin They're going to play their first show in over 30 years, alongside former wolf vocalist Tatsunori Matsumoto's band Black Master Mountain and with what I assume is a Michael Schenker Group cover band opening for them.

While thrilled with the reissue, I definitely wasn't expecting them to come back. I wonder if they have any musical plans for the future. I think they just might, considering the two newly recorded bonus tracks that were going to be added to their demo reissue. This will be an interesting one to follow.

Personally, I would prefer Dead End to come alive again, but this could be very nice as well.

Yeah for sure Dead End should be priority, but as a little something on the side of You's schedule, this could be pretty cool I think.

So, while You Adachi had his hands all over the upcoming reissue of Le Dernier Slow, and I think he's probably even responsible for getting a big label like King to do something with the old Jesus songs, he is apparently too busy to join this band again (go figure, hopefully that means he's gearing up for new Dead End stuff though). Band leader Kiyoshi Utsunomiya has returned however, recruiting a new lineup to round out the band.

The band's new lineup, at least as of right now is as follows:
Kiyoshi Utsunomiya - bass, backing vocals
Kosen Kadoya - drums
Kosuke Endo - guitar, backing vocals
Takeshi Mori - vocals

Hmm I guess they're allowed to perform without You? I was under the impression that he wrote most of their songs.

He wasn't an original member though, I think it was Kiyoshi Utsunomiya (Cloud Forest/Belladonna)'s band. They only recruited Adachi as a young guitarist they liked from Terra Rosa in roughly 1985 to play in both bands and he did most of that Le Dernier Slow demo.

The band's Subsonic Violence demo, while still good, was before Adachi and had a totally different writing style.
