[J-Indie] Yubisaki Nohaku (指先ノハク)
#1
All-female indie rock band with math, pop and experimental tendencies. They've been around for over 9 years now (in one form or another) with no line-up changes, so that's pretty long in comparison to their peers. They're highlighted by excellent basswork, lots of effects-pedals, and soulful vocals. Pretty energetic/fun band too.

They have a string of sold-out venue singles/mcds (*grumble*) and finally made their first MCD available to us plebs last year. They're recording a new release as we speak.

Song from their latest MCD. A bit more dark and brooding than usual. I found this one took a few listens to fully get into.

One of their older and more accessible songs, IMO. Probably the one I'd expose people new to the band first. Pretty nice slap-bass on it.

The MCD version is a bit different than this one (faster, less dissonant). I personally love the guitar effects on this one, but I can see how it would drive someone up the wall. The interplay between the guitar and bass is pretty neat too.

One of their more quirky songs. I don't disagree with the one commenter comparing this to Merpeoples.

And a couple of older songs:

They have a bunch of older songs on their soundcloud page:
