[Heavy/Power Metal] Hurry Scuary / Hell 'n' Back / Hideaki Nakama (中間英明)

His stage act is nice and enthusiastic as well. On that dvd, Fukuda is pretty concentrated on his playing, possibly due to his hearing problems, but Nakama steals the show.
If you can't get enough of me giving my opinions without having asked for it, you can read more of it on my Kevy Metal weblog.

Does anyone know if Hideaki Nakama still lives in California? I know he had that Hell 'n' Back band with Dan Bryant from Hexx. It would be cool to hear what he's up to nowadays.

That album is really good. I'm not even an "old-school" type of guy, and I really liked it. Haven't played it in a while.

Wow, that first Hell 'n' Back album gives me the goosebumps! Despite being comprised of American musicians aside from Hideaki Nakama himself on guitar, Dan Bryant gives a LETHAL vocal performance here, reminding me of vintage Ronnie James Dio. "The Dying Breed" is an incredibly enticing tune that I can't get enough out of.

While the band was based in the United States and only comprised of one Japanese musician, this is nonetheless a keeper.

I've been thinking a lot about Break It Up, and while it's a bit of a bummer that the entire album is in English, the vocals really work their magic. Yasuhide Minami singing in English doesn't make me flinch as much as, say, Takenori Shimoyama or Yasuyuki Kida doing the very same thing.

So, looking at the Metal Archives page for Hell 'N' Back, it says there was a DVD called Live At Budokan, anybody come across this before or seen it/own it?

Can't say I have ever seen one. I'll try to remember to mention it if I do.

Yeah, me neither. If it does exist, it had to be a tiny independent release of some kind. I wonder if someone could ask Dan Bryant or Hideaki Nakama about it.

Don't think anyone's posted this (or if they have, it seems odd not to have it in the guy's own thread, so here it is):

There will be a 30th anniversary show of "Point of No Return" later this year.
