GYZE - The Rising Dragon (龍吟) (June 13, 2018)
#21
Just found out that their PR in Europe is done by an agent that I get along with pretty well. She can probably sort me out for an interview. And no, I'm not going to ask why their productions suck Wink
If you can't get enough of me giving my opinions without having asked for it, you can read more of it on my Kevy Metal weblog.

You could ask them something politely about their choice of producers. Tongue Sort of an indirect way of seeing why they go for the sound they do without being rude.

Don't. Chances are you'll end up being REALLY GOOD FRIENDS with them, and you'd take any criticism of them VERY SERIOUSLY. Tongue

Hahaha good points, both of you Wink We'll see. I have the EP in my promo folder now, so I'll give it a listen later today. Usually my ears go tired from a full Gyze release, but this is only five songs.

In all honesty, I think the production thing is probably them wanting to sound like Children of Bodom as much as possible. They are renowned for their painfully trebly production and mastering jobs.

Be sure to talk about how nice the production was on the third album too. We need more of that. Tongue
Occasionally, I write music reviews.
