General Saber Tiger Thread
Haha thanks for the recognition! Big Grin You have been listening to them for longer than I have though. Granted, there are some biological reasons at work there, but still... Wink

I guess you guys my have missed this - I would have if I didn't have to write new promo texts for them - but there is a new digital only Saber Tiger compilation called 'Unorthodox Paragraph'. It's basically a "one disc" compilation of the 'Paragraph IV' recordings from 2011. Well worth listening to if you don't already own that record. I'm glad 'Bad Devotion', 'Fading, Crying Star', 'Two Dimensional Sky' and 'Spiral Life' made the cut.

Good thing I do. Boo digital. Tongue I guess for the other folks it's nice though.

Same here, it was the first thing I got of them, together with 'Decisive' Smile It might be a nice low-risk way to get acquainted with them if you aren't already though.

How much of a hipster opinion is it to love Paragraph 2? Revisiting it today, I think I like it nearly as much as Timystery. That's a really neat album.

Actually, I think it's a perennial favorite amongst their old school crowd Smile I ignored it for the longest time, thinking it was a haphazardly compiled collection of demoes, but it's actually a really cool sounding record.

I guess I'm suddenly an old-schooler. Tongue Saber Tiger is funny. It seems I like their earliest stuff and latest stuff the most. The period in the middle (the 00s stuff) isn't bad or anything. But I'm not really sure how often I really want to listen to F.U.S.E.

Save for 'Indignation', 'F.U.S.E.' is easily my least favorite Saber Tiger album. Ironically, they were at the height of their popularity at the time. Apparently, that record is their bestseller and they were playing the largest venues at the time. It's not bad by any means, but it's not memorable enough for me. Plus, Shimoyama's lyrics can be a little cringewothy at times. 'Walking Like A Big' anyone? Tongue
