General J-Indie/J-Rock Discussion
I'm not surprised this kind of thing happens though. It seems like the type of thing they teach these bands in media training or something. It's a worldwide phenomenon, but I guess this situation is more extreme due to the large sums of money being dropped into it.

yeah, whilst you hear all the time about bands being screwed over by unscrupulous managers/promoters etc., it's rarer that you hear about the reverse - but then it's understandable because no-one really cares about the unglamorous but essential shit that goes on behind the scenes.

People often seek music as an escape from the mundane, and maybe don't want to realise the mundane elements that go into making it work as that brings it back to dull reality.

Perry Strickland from Vio-Lence once described touring as "one hour of fun and 23 hours of the worst bullshit you could possibly imagine". But yeah, you're right, I don't think that's the stuff that people want to hear unless there's something spectacular in it.

I really wonder how the fuck that NMFT guy can afford that stuff.
Occasionally, I write music reviews.

He works as a doctor (anesthesiologist), so he probably has a ton of disposable income. But still, 70 grand a year is probably the worst case of Dr Pepper ever Laugh And he's been doing this for a long time now.

Sounds better than their previous release. Got this CD waiting at FJ.

Forgot to play this one. Seems more pop-punkish than usual. Vox are pretty weird, doubly weird for this type of music.

Has promise. Safe assumption this band is long gone. Shoutbox is total cringe, as usual.

Not bad.

Not bad. No idea if the CD will be readily available or not though.
