Fury of Fear - Fury of Fear (May 23, 2018)
#1
Everyone's favourite retro-Power Metal duo, 'Fury of Fear' release an eponymously named album this April. Exact release date is uncertain, so I've used the Release Party date for now. Here's the trailer Mamoru has put up:

No details on the contents, but it has fifteen songs are promised, so its definitely a full-length! Will fill in the details when they arrive...

Bad cover, better music. I’d want to hear more before actually buying anything, since there’s so many neo-Malmsteen Japanese acts, but if the spirit and the songwriting is there then we’ll see.

Oh Mamoru's pretty reliable if you like that sort of thing. Painkiller did a thread on FoF (& Demon's Eye) if you haven't seen it.

Yeah, check them out here.

There are never enough of these "clones" in Japan. Although Katsu Ohta is the most obvious case, even he is more refreshing to listen to than what the Swedish maestro has been cooking nowadays, and it's not hot-and-heavy riffing, either — think more like "glazed" goods. Wink

Norifumi Shima, Hideaki Nakama, Akira Kajiyama (although he doesn't consider himself a shredder), Kelly Simonz, Tsutomu Toya, Yukihisa Kanatani, and Tetsuya Mitani are just some of the much better examples in this style in Japan.

One month since the release of the album. Continue the discussion here. Thanks.

I re-opened this, because the release date is actually May 23rd. We need to be careful about albums which have advance releases at live events.

Sorry. I was going to change it when we had a definite date but obviously forgot!
