CREATURE CREATURE

That's what it said in the booklet. "Scream" for track 5 was Eye. Not "backing vocals." But "scream." Laugh

Ah, listening to it again, now I remember it. Track 5 is a short weird interlude one and there are some literal backing screams. Those must have been awkward to record. Tongue

Well since we're being anal about thread conversation... Tongue

It was the track after that. I couldn't find a separate video for it, so the trailer will have to do, here we go, at 3:43

I can't stand that at all. It doesn't even seem to be a matter of pitch, because there's higher notes in the same section that he reaches without problem. Maybe it was a breath issue, but it doesn't sound like anything that couldn't be fixed with another take.

Ah, I guess it's just a stylistic choice you don't like I suppose. I just think Morrie is just hitting a weird note on purpose there (you're probably expecting something maybe a little higher in pitch). That particular song is meant to be all dissonant and weird, and I think Morrie sounds awesome there.

I'm not sure about that, he has a lot of those songs where he sounds like he's being strangled when I think it sort of sounds like he's aiming for a clean note, but since you're more familiar with his output, I'll give you (not Morrie, you Wink) the benefit of the doubt here.

It's weird though... This is Morrie's project, but Morrie is the one factor keeping this from being a 9 or maybe even a 9.5 out of 10 album for me.

My apologies for the derailment, but I didn't actually think it was one. I either didn't know or didn't remember Creature Creature had a separate thread. I figured it made sense that the Dead End thread was for that.

I didn't really care if the Dead End thread devolved into Creature Creature honestly, but whatever. Laugh

Anyways with Morrie, I'm pretty sure he just sounds like he's being strangled on purpose. Laugh The dude does a lot of weird stuff with his voice; it's hard to think he's struggling.

Ah, ancient youtube videos can be interesting. Someone actually uploaded an MV for Creature Creature's Paradise (which I didn't even know existed) way back in 2006. Man, that guy was really on the ball. You can tell by the description though that he was only there because of L`Arc~en~Ciel.

Quote:Creature Creature - Paradise. Tetsu is at it again with his creepy looking band and creepier lead singer. Well... in this video the singer looks kinda stylish, I think, with that retro outfit. While you barely get to see the guitarist, you can swear that Tetsu still thinks he's in L'Arc~en~Ceil... It's as if they just copied and pasted him right into this video! I love this song.

Poor Morrie. Laugh I love this song too though. Not sure what's up with the dated 70s-esque psychedelic effects in the MV though.

Laugh I recognize that description. The same person uploaded the "風の塔" PV and was slightly more generous to Morrie there:

Quote:Creature Creature - Kaze No Tou. Tetsu's latest band project has released some new PVs from their singles. This song has Tetsu written all over it. I'm sure he wrote it right? Morrie looks as creepy as ever, but his voice is beautiful. Deep, Warm and Vibrant.

(Side note: Yes, Tetsu wrote this song. s/o to Japanese Wikipedia.)

Well, Morrie is divisive, but at least he's got character Smile There's some moments where I find him hard to listen to as well, but he's never trying to be anyone else.
