Carmilla - Live Explosion '88-'89 (July 30, 2018)
#1
So Carmilla's guitarist got a hold of us over the Facebook page just to let us know that Carmilla's live album came out on July 30. It can be purchased below, in case anyone's interested (didn't make a release thread since it's already released). It's got all your live songs from above, Bill.

Oh cool! Thanks! Will have to get a copy. That 'on demand' CD-R thing Amazon do is an interesting idea. The Alevas album I picked up was done like that too. Cuts the risk of running off too many, I guess. Only 30 years late for a full release...

Unfortunately I lost her latest blog link in my PC crash so will have to do a bit of Googling now.

Oh look, found it:

Music Life Hotter than Hell

Looks like JMF got a credit in the blurb Big Grin :

When did we have so much pull in the industry? WTF?!?!?
Occasionally, I write music reviews.

Beats me! Now, of course, all we have to do is get Concerto Moon to change their vocalist Wink

That's frickin' cool. The site's first mention in a CD release. Big Grin

So she also said that she included the band's studio demo tape on the live album as bonus tracks. I'm going to have to pick this up as well.

She's obviously gone to a lot of trouble - band photos, graphics, an English booklet she's written herself and everything else using GIMP. Interesting what you can do with the technology these days - no dog-eared C90 tape with 'DEMO' scrawled on it in felt tip Wink

Wonder if MA would accept an entry now they have a full release, even if it is 'mostly live'?

Absolutely. M-A doesn't care if it's a live so long as it's an official release. I might bug that guitarist again and ask her what years the original tapes came out, and their tracklists, just so they can be listed eventually too.

The demo was December 1988, 2 songs, A side 'Elizabeth Bathori' and B-side 'See You in Hell'. It's a visual on some of the videos on the first page.

Line-up (according to the CD) was Manami-chan on bass, A-chan (which I assume is Kizakura Hoshino) on guitar, Roku-chan on drums (she's the one now in Werewolf Babys) and Nana-chan on vocals. Don't know if Manami or Nana were in any other bands though. Or if Carmilla began before 1988? I assume they ended in 1989.
