Album cover parodies hold a special place in my heart. I like Iron Attack's parody covers too.

Had a couple off deliveries this week (from my monetary birthday presents!):

Image

Rakshasa - 憂愁録 - 月読
Some stuff from Bill at Disk Heaven. I really enjoyed Rakshasa's album. Very consistent too. So I finally got the latest EP

Wirbelwind - Vanishing of Kingdom
New MDM band I enjoyed the trailer of but didn't get around to picking up.

NoGod - Proof
Catching up on NoGod's more metal releases. Another I enjoyed the trailer for but never got around to picking up.

Syu - Vorvados
Yay! Shu! Yay! Fuki! Boo!! Programmed drums!

Vandal Killer - Inheritance
Female-fronted band from Niigata I found off Steeldriver's comp from that area. This is their only album and they have a new singer now.

Thunder Fall - Glorious a New World
Interesting power metal band with twin guitarist brothers and a rather dubious front man (technically, not morally! Well, as far as I know). Still not quite sure if they've split up yet!

All Images Blazing - Multicolored
First of two items from CD Japan. Album from the not very high output progressive metal unit. Heard a few songs from them of late that were pretty good.

Gals Rock Band Kakumei - High Speed Magnum
Junna and pals. The gals band with the overly descriptive name. Mostly for Junna's drums though the bassist is pretty good too. Singer can vary a bit.

'Proof' and 'V' are easily the most metal ones Smile I guess 'Proof' is slightly more metal overall, but I think 'V' has the most metallic tracks, if that makes any sense. Enjoy anyway!

Make A New World is another of their very metallic releases.

Yeah but it's also kind of hit and miss Wink I absolutely adore 'World Ender' though.

I mean, I really enjoyed Make A New World myself, but I think their albums in general have pretty varying appeal to most people who hear them.

Yeah definitely. I think they got more consistent in recent years. There's a bunch of awesome metal tracks on their early record, but also these odd pop-punky songs. Their early releases are prime examples of how you described them in their thread here: a band not really knowing what they want to be.
